"Beethoven's Silence" In Cannes Festival As Part Of The Film Litigante's Background Music

"Beethoven's Silence" by Ernesto Cortazar will sound in Cannes Festival 2019. This theme has been selected to be part in the sophomore feature film of Franco Lolli titled Litigante, produced by Sylvie Pialat and Benoîin.

Litigante will be the Opener in Cannes Festival Critics' Week on May 15th 2019. 

This news means so myuch for us, the Cortazar Family, Ernesto Cortazar´s dream came true with this theme being part of a featured film in this International Festival, for most, the most important in the whole world.

Film Litigante - Cannes Festival Critic's Week Opener on May 15th, 2019

 

“LITIGANTE”

Synopsis: Bogotà, Columbia. Silvia, single mother and officer in charge of the city planning department, is implicated in a bribery scandal. A deeper anxiety is added to her professional complications. Her mother, Leticia, suffers from a recurrence of cancer. While she must face the unbearable yet ineluctable death, Silvia is engaging in a love affair, the first since years.

Producer: Sylvie Pialat and Benoît Quainon for Les Films Du Worso. Les Films du Worso is a French independent production company, created in 2003 by Sylvie Pialat. Les Films du Worso has produced more than 50 films (short, medium-length and feature films), from the likes of Abderrahmane Sissako (‘Timbuktu’, nominated at the Academy Awards 2015 for Best International Film, winner of 7 César), Xavier Beauvois, Alain Guiraudie, Lisandro Alonso, Amos Gitaï, Guillaume Nicloux, Corneliu Porumboiu and Joachim Lafosse. Sylvie Pialat has received twice the Daniel Toscan du Plantier Award, as Best French Producer of the year, in 2014 and 2015.

Script: written by Franco Lolli and Marie Amachoukeli, in collaboration with Virginie Legeay

Director: Franco Lolli. This is the sophomore feature film of the Columbian screenwriter and director, after his debut Gente de bien (Critic’s Week, Cannes 2014), which received rave reviews.

Cast: Carolina Sanin, Leticia Gomez, Antonio Martinez and Alejandra Sarria.

Approximate length of the film: 90 minutes
